What is your kitchen staple?
You know, that something you use time and time again. Because it's comfortable. Reliable. Awesome.
A favorite sauté pan. A professional knife. A citrus juicer. Garlic press...
I think mine might be the ramekin.
Ramekins are so versatile.
They're oven, microwave, dishwasher and freezer safe. Great for individual portions (and portion control - if you're in to the sort of thing). Perfect for your soft, spreadable cheeses and dips. Crumbles, Creme Brulees, flan. And well....they're just so darn adorable!
Who wouldn't want to eat an individual cheese souffle? I mean really. Someone took the time to make you your own, precious, delicious, individual cheese souffle.
I think you should maybe wash their dishes for them as a thank you.
Individual servings. That's another good reason why I find myself gravitating to the ramekin so often. It makes people feel special. Like you did something specifically and only for them.
Maybe you could try our Peach and Blueberry Crumble in one of these puppies.
Or chicken pot pie. Yum! This cooler weather screams for a scrumptious, served-in-ramekin, chicken pot pie. Hello....
Or maybe you have guests coming over for brunch and scrambled eggs, omelets and frittatas are not on your menu. Well, what about something more personalized. And something you don't have to sweat over. Eggs en Cocotte - how elegant.
Ramekins are awesome. Ramekins are very often white. Clean, crisp white.
Lovely.
Though sometimes...sometimes you want a little pizzaz.
