Chew on This | Chocolate Banana Dessert Panini

Panini’s don’t just have to be savory…they can be sweet too, easy, and  FAST...just the perfect thing to serve when unexpected company comes.

With three ingredients and a few minutes (7 tops) you can be serving a dessert that
is grilled, crunchy to perfection on the outside and oh, so oozy and gooey on the inside.
This recipe serves 2, for you and your honey, so you'll have to double or triple it if others
arrive.

This is what you will need:
Day old white bread, or if you can’t wait that long you can use fresh, semi-sweet chocolate
chips, a banana,  powdered sugar to sprinkle and a panini press, waffle iron, or a grill pan.

 Rough chop the chocolate chips…and

slice the banana in rounds…now let’s build a bite of melted deliciousness!

On a clean surface, place two slices of  bread and sprinkle each with 1/4 of the chopped chocolate chips. Layer on the sliced bananas and top each with the remaining chocolate.
Oh, it's going to be sooo good I can hardly wait.  Now put on the top piece of bread and head for the grill.

Place on a hot grill which has been very lightly sprayed.

Lower the lid…and ya only have to wait until golden!  Tick-tock, tick-tock.

Remove from the grill and cut in half or fourths with a very sharp knife.  Arrange on
a serving plate,  sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve immediately.

Delicious, fast and gooey!

Here is the recipe:

Chocolate Banana Dessert Panini

4   oz of semi-sweet chocolate chips
4   slices of day old white bread
1    banana, cut in round slices
2   ounces of semisweet chocolate, medium chop

Spray the panini press or a grill pan with a small amount of cooking spray.  Trim the
crusts of the bread if you want but it isn’t necessary.  Lay two pieces of white bread on
a clean working surface.  Cover each with 1/4 of the chopped semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Cover the chocolate with the slices of bananas.  Divide the remaining chocolate and sprinkle over the top of the bananas.

Top each with the remaining two slices of bread and transfer to a hot panini press, grill pan or waffle iron.   Cook until golden and the chocolate is beginning to melt.

Using a very sharp knife, cut panini’s in half or in fourths.  Arrange on a serving plate and sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy immediately.
