School starts in two short weeks. The kid's sports practices started last week. School supplies are purchased and packed. New clothes are washed and ready. And Fall is ever so lightly knocking on the door.
I'm giddy with happiness that Fall is beginning to stalk us. Fall is my season. Summer is awesome too, but I'm ready for it's peaceful and speedy exit. Like now.
Summer will no doubt drag it's feet. It usually does. But that doesn't mean I can't start celebrating the season's change today. This Vanilla Date Smoothie straddles that change quite nicely. It's part ice cold Summer refresher and part warm Fall coziness. Allowing you to keep one toe in each season easily.

Here's our recipe:
Vanilla Date Smoothie
(serves 2)
1/2 - 3/4 C vanilla almond milk
1/2 C plain yogurt
1 C Medjool dates, seeded
1 t vanilla
1/4 t cinnamon
1/4 t nutmeg
1 C ice
Combine all ingredients into a blender and blend until desired consistency. Pour into two glasses and enjoy with a friend!
