Who Knew? How To...Lavender Mint Linen Spray

Linking up to How-To Tuesdays....Welcome!

Wouldn't you love to make something that will help soothe and relax you? Something that refreshes you, lifts your mood yet promotes calmness? A concoction that induces restful sleep and clears the mind? I would too! Please let me know when you find something that fits the above criteria.

Hee hee hee!

I do have something that comes pretty darn close to that kind of calming peace - lavender mint linen spray. Don't let the name fool you, it's not just for your linens. And, it's amazing!

Here's what you'll need:
Isopropyl alcohol or vodka (no, really, you can use vodka), distilled or filtered water, lavender essential oil and peppermint essential oil. You'll also need some type of atomizer, mister or spray bottle.

3 1/4 C distilled or filtered water
1/4 C isopropyl alcohol or vodka
1 t lavender essential oil
5-10 drops peppermint essential oil
2 twelve ounce spray bottles, atomizers or misting bottles

Combine all the ingredients together and carefully pour into your spray containers. I was able to make 2 - twelve ounce bottles and 1 - two ounce bottle (for travel) of spray. Shake vigorously before each use and spray until your heart's content!

I use this spray on my bed sheets, pillows, bath towels and upholstered furniture. You can also use this aromatic liquid in your iron, to steam a calming scent into your crisply pressed clothing. As well, it can be used in the rinse cycle of your washing machine to thoroughly refresh a load.

Lavender and mint have so many wonderful properties! Mixing them together just made great sense to me. You can, however, use whatever essential oil fragrances you love and make your own signature linen spray!

  2. This sounds awesome, but do you know what my inner OCD loves the best? The fact that you made CUTE labels to put on the spray bottles. Oh, how I love pretty little labels...
