Over the top chocolate mousse. Soft and mellow madeleine cakes. Velvety rich chocolate ganache. These Chocolate Madeleine Mousse cups aren't going to just give you a little hello peck when you try them. They're going to grab you around the waist and kiss you with a chocolate passion.
Sounds pretty good, doesn't it? This is our second dessert offering for Donsuemor and it is decadent!
Start with an unctuous layer of chocolate ganache at the bottom of your cup. Stand three madeleines at attention in your ganache and allow to set. When ready, spoon that sweet mousse into the center of each cup.
And then, if you're feeling extra fancy, top your mousse cups with an elegant squiggle. (Yes, 'squiggle' - a highly technical term.)
These mousse cups are so full of chocolate. Yet you're not overpowered by it because of the buttery mellow madeleines. Mmmm...good!
Looks good! Tastes great! Try these babies today!
Mimi
Serves 4
12 oz semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 pint heavy whipping cream
1 cup Kraft Jet-Puff Marshmallow Creme
12 Donsuemor Madeleine's
12 cupcake papers
Melt chocolate chips in the top of a double boiler set over simmering water.
To make optional squiggles for top decoration, place 2 T of the melted chocolate in a decorator's bag fitted with the small hole tip. Squeeze out your decoration on parchment paper. Place in the refrigerator to harden.
Spray four cupcake papers with a touch of cooking spray. Stack a few more cupcake papers under the sprayed ones to add some stability.
In a small bowl, add 1/4 cup of the melted chocolate and 2T of heavy whipping cream. Stir to combine. Pour the melted chocolate, dividing it between the 4 cupcake papers, in a 1/4" layer and immediately stand 3 madeleines in each paper cup with the decorative grooved side facing out. Place cups into the refrigerator to set, or in the freezer for a quicker set.
To the remaining melted chocolate, add 3 T of the heavy cream and stir to blend. Add 1 cup of Jet-Puffed Marshmallow Creme, stir to incorporate. Next, whip the remaining heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold into the chocolate marshmallow mousse mixture.
Spoon the mousse into the madeleine cups and top with the optional squiggles. Enjoy!
