Sometimes. Sometimes people are yucky.
When people behave in a less than stellar way I assume that they must be struggling through something. Something that only allows them to access that negative place in their brain that tinges their world with anger, selfish behavior, and self doubt. We all have that negative place inside with that stupid, obnoxious voice that tells us exactly what we don't want to hear. It's awful.
Here's what I hope though - I hope that when people are finished projecting the ugliness that consumes them, that they then go out of their way to spread kindness and love.
Fingers crossed.

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies
1 C peanut butter (I used chunky!)
1 C (2 sticks) butter, softened
1 C brown sugar, packed
1/2 C granulated sugar
3 eggs
1 t vanilla
2 C flour
1 1/2 t baking soda
1 1/2 t salt
2 C old fashioned oats
1 C peanut butter chips
3/4 C chocolate chips
3/4 C dry roasted nuts
1 1/2 C peanut butter puffed cereal (I used Organic Panda Puffs, you could also use Peanut Butter Cheerios)
Preheat your oven to 350℉ and line your cookies sheets with parchment paper or silpat.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together your peanut butter and butter. After, add in your brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs and vanilla. Stir to thoroughly incorporate.
Next, in another bowl, sift together your flour, baking soda and salt. Add this mixture to your peanut butter mixture and stir to combine.
Finally, stir in your oats, peanut butter chips, chocolate chips, roasted nuts, and peanut butter puff cereal (you might have to do this a few ingredients at a time to avoid overload).
Place heaping tablespoons of batter onto your prepared cookie sheet and bake, in your preheated oven, for 10-12 minutes, or until just golden around the edges. Enjoy!
