Chew on This | Duke's Bean Salad

Picnic anyone?

Duke's Bean Salad is great for a side salad at home but even better as a picnic take along.
It's a little bit different and so full of flavor.  Duke's is easy to make and extremely quick to prepare...though it should be made the day before the event 'cause the ingredients need to hang-out together to reach their full flavor.

This is what you will need to make Duke’s Bean Salad:

Red kidney beans, yellow onions, celery, garlic, mayonnaise, sweet pickles or sweet
pickle relish, sweet pickle juice, garlic powder, onion powder, Paula Deens House
Seasoning, and salt and pepper to taste.

The first thing you’ll want to do is rinse and drain the kidney beans.

I am almost ashamed to tell you how simple the prep is on this one...just mix all the ingredients in the amounts given and blend together.  Again, this salad really develops flavor if given the chance to hang-out in the fridge for 24 hours or at least overnight.

Okay, so you might have to chop and... .

drop a few ingredients - we're building flavor here and that's what it's all about...

Combine all your ingredients in a picnic container or serving bowl, cover and then CHILL...
the bowl not you!

When ready to serve, correct the seasonings if necessary, and sit back and SMILE.

All done - grab your picnic basket and get going.

You'll make this little gem again and again - only we'll know how quick and easy
it was to prepare, hee, hee!
